The Emblem Hotel Prague, right in the centre of Old Town/Stare Město, is where we go for long soaks in copper bathtubs, post-spa lounging on the rooftop terrace, and great food.
Style-wise, it’s a historic building restored into an Art Deco, early 20th-century design, inspired space fully keyed in on comfort.
The design isn’t groundbreaking, but it seems well-suited to the building. Colours are muted; designers clearly opted for warm neutrals to set off the modern metalwork and clean lines.
Woven throughout are some wonderful, one-of-a-kind art pieces commissioned just for the hotel.
Artists who have contributed to the Emblem include Tauba Auerbach, Jiří Kovanda, Josephine Pryde, Lucy Raven, Lucy McKenzie and Eva Koťátková.

It’s a big enough hotel that you’ll be choosing a room that looks a lot like the other rooms, but there are many options that offer sophisticated charm.
Guestrooms are most hotel-y, but they’re still cosy, comfortable spaces.
Petite Rooms run around 18 square metres, which in some hotels would be considered Deluxe, so it’s a good starting place.
Moving up through the ranks, you have Queen Doubles and King Singles, all with a similar modern, warm grey vibe, large windows and especially plush bathrooms.
Suites are the ones that get special, offering extra seating and bathrooms that have expanded to fit a full soaking tub.
Atelier and Terrace Suites add on some antique-inspired decor or cute balconies.
The Library suite, with its signature William Holland copper bathtub and wood beams, is the crown jewel.
Whatever you choose, there’s plenty to pamper yourself with, including rain showers, bathtubs, espresso machines, mini bars, working areas, climate control, and luxury bathrobes.

They have an extensive menu of classic and experimental drinks.

The Emblem Hotel is in Prague’s Old Town, so not the most relaxed part of the city, but pretty much everything you might want to see is within walking distance, the Prague Astronomical Clock, for example, being just around the corner.
Coming home to a half hour in the hotel spa is a known cure for all crowd-related fatigue.
Deeper in the Old Town, you’ll find Klementinum, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, and any number of other museums.
Manes Bridge is a 5-minute walk to the side of the river, and another 15 to the gorgeous Prague Castle, which you may have spotted from the hotel’s rooftop jacuzzi.
Or head to Nové Město, or New Town, just down the riverside, for shopping and other less touristy activities.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“The hotel was lovely and staff were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a King Dom room – bed was comfy and spacious. The room was a good size and bathroom was really big with separate shower and bath. The location was spot on, just around the corner from the astronomical clock, library, coffee & waffles and Black Angel cocktail bar which we’d been recommended to go to. Concierge took our bags to our room whilst we got checked in and we were able to check in early which was ideal as we arrived around 1pm….”
“Roof – top Jacuzzi, gym & steak restaurant. Dinner at steak restaurant was one of the best ever. Food, wine, drinks and service was 11/10 or 6 stars out of five….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Our bedroom though pleasant, was a bit tired….”
”Service at the breakfast did not match the level and quality of the dinner, it was ok, but I would not say it was 5 star. Coffee quality was completely different from the coffee served after the steak dinner. Same hotel; same place for serving food; but different teams and completely different experience. Breakfast team shall take lessons from the steak team….”
