66 Saint Paul’s Boutique Hotel, Valletta, is housed in a grand, heavy-walled, 17th-century era palazzo in the southeast edge of il-Beit. Renovated in modern times to welcome more light and air, this new openness has been put to good use. Good first impressions start immediately upon entering, with the central courtyard area and its giant, elegantly curved staircase. The interior design is quite understated, no colours are allowed leap out.
