The Hazelton Hotel in Yorkville, Toronto. doesn’t pack a lot of personality, but bring a love for chic furnishings, brass fixtures, and the kind of beige-gold that makes a hotel feel lush, and you’ll be good.
The exterior is solidly contemporary, but the red brick tones that down a bit and gives it just the right amount of gravitas.
Cute Juliette balconies and tree-adorned walk-outs add a luxurious touch visible from the outside.
And the inside more than matches. Inside, you’ve got a space that looks like it was designed by your grandmother, the artistic one that shops at Saks 5th and wears Prada heels to family dinners.
If you want something that feels exceptionally different, we’ll have to send you somewhere else.
If you want something that feels exceptionally rich and comfortable, look no further.

Decor-wise, the rooms are the least interesting part of the Hazelton.
We’re talking gray and beige with plenty of carpeting, heavy curtains and subtly coloured sectionals.
The dark marble bathrooms will kick it up a notch, and the balconies are a key element.
Guestrooms start at King Singles, beautifully spacious at around 400 square feet, with terrace-like walk-out options.
Luxury Kings have even more space, in case you needed a game of Twister or something.
There is a Luxury Two-Queen appropriate for groups.
A selection of Suites range from 725 to almost 2000 square feet, with lounge areas, walk-in closets, dining areas and superb views.
They all have a pretty conventional opulence to them, absolutely nothing to complain about, but nothing we’d rave about either.
Whatever you go for, we’re really into the soaking tubs, and happy about Nespresso machines, heated bathroom floors, LCD TVs, and more.

How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Area: Located in lively Yorkville, near central Toronto attractions.

The Hazelton is in Yorkville, a solid neighbourhood quite close to the centre of Toronto.
Indeed, it’s a definite central vibe, with large streets and plenty of traffic. If you’re one for quiet residential stays, you’ll want to find something a little less bustle-y.
Yet, if you want to be close to everything the city has to offer, this is a decent option. It’s not the most central of all the hotels ever, but you’ll be in the thick of things regardless.
The University of Toronto will be a super-easy walk. The Royal Ontario Museum, Gardiner Museum, and Queen’s Park are literally around the corner.
For some shopping-based fun, head over to Little Italy and/or Kensington Market, a 20-minute drive.
Once you’re downtown things are relatively walkable, and it shouldn’t be hard to get a rideshare in the area.
The Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Sign, and Old Toronto are all super close once you get there.
The furthest must-see is probably the Distillery District, the best place for a stylish dinner and some killer drinks. It’s on the east side of the city, towards the harbour.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:

“Perfect, location was famous and I couldn’t say enough good about it. I would recommend 100 out of 100 times….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”I was there in August during a hot spell for Toronto (Mid 80’s) and the rooms were a bit stuffy for my liking….”
”Baby crib – should be better for a deluxe hotel….”
