First opening in 1927, Rosewood Hotel Georgia provides some old-time glamour to central Vancouver’s generally modern hotel scene.
Not that it’s really a throwback to a former age, it has been much modernized, but with a clear respect for its roots.
The original, twenties era, Hotel Georgia was a stately stone number with those glowing blade signs that make old hotels so charming.
And there’s still gorgeous wrought iron and carved stone all around.
Generally a boutique hotel shouldn’t be this big, but with the surprising lack of historical hotels in Vancouver, it would be a shame to miss one of the best.
And let’s not get started on the number of amenities that make a stay here so delightfully indulgent.
If you ever tire of glass and metal contemporary Vancouver, we’re sending you here.

Once you get to the rooms at Rosewood Hotel Georgia, most anything historical is gone.
Instead, you’ve got an elegance studded with contemporary touches that make the space feel cutting edge, but rooted in the classics.
The base is a pretty standard white and gray, but the art is exceptional and the colourful touches from the upholstery and accents bring it all to life.
There’s not much variation in style until you hit the Suites, which shows a high bar for quality we will happily get behind.
Superior Kings are at the first level, lovely, roomy 300-400 square foot spaces with various views.
You can snag a Double Double if you’re not looking to share a bed, or a soaking tub if baths are non-negotiable.
Deluxe Rooms add more space and arguably better views, while Premier options offer 500 square feet and tubs all around.
Suites range from a relatively simple One-bedroom to the super plush Lord Stanley Suite.
This one hits almost 1300 square feet and has a rooftop garden, plunge pool, and multiple fireplaces.
If you don’t need quite that much, rest assured that all rooms include lovely spa bathrooms, HDTVs, Bose speakers, Nespresso machines and robes and slippies.

- Multiple options: Breakfast in 1927 Lounge, casual bites at Bel Café, and fine dining at Hawksworth.
- Elegant bars: Georgia Bar for cocktails or Prophecy for a moody, underground vibe.

- Extensive treatments: Oxygen facials, massages, and soakless pedicures available.
We love a rooftop terrace anyway, but the one at Rosewood Hotel Georgia is pretty top-notch.
A collection of skylights, thriving plant life and fairy lights make Reflections a lovely place to enjoy any meal.
It’s open just for dinner on weekdays, but offers brunch on weekends, serving up a delightful menu of small plates with global flair.
Early risers and vampires can enjoy a multitude of other dining options.
Breakfast in the 1927 Lounge is a solid choice, or you can grab a quick coffee and pastry at Bel Café.
They’re both open into the lunch hour as well.
Posh dining is best at Hawksworth, a super-chic option for lunch, dinner, or cocktail hour with a regional focus and many local ingredients.
Finally, bevvies are perfect at the lobby’s Georgia Bar.
It’s a stunner of dark wood, shiny stone and gleaming glass that you might be surprised to find is not from the original hotel.
Less posh, more sultry is Prophecy, their moody basement bar.
If you have time to fit in any exercise between the dining options, you’ll be glad to know the fitness centre is also top-notch.
It sits next to the spa and a nicely designed indoor saltwater lap pool.
The spa itself has a long menu of available treatments, from oxygen facials to soakless pedicures.
